Ramachandran joined GAC Oman in 2001 after spending the
previous five years with John Laing International Ltd,
also based in Muscat, Oman.
His initial GAC
appointment was as Executive Secretary/QA and
Management Representative. This role involved
maintaining and updating the Quality Management System
of GAC Oman and two associated companies.
In 2006, Ramachandran was appointed Manager, Quality
Development. This newly created department is
responsible for GAC’s management system tools such as
GAC Time (TQM) and QMS. A major achievement of the
department has been the design and launch of a dedicated
database of all QMS-related activities within GAC Oman,
which has helped make the system accessible to all
members of the organisation.
Ramachandran’s
role with GAC Oman also includes the responsibilities of
Personal Assistant to the General Manager and managing
the day-to-day operation of the GM’s office. He has also
been appointed as a GCA Liaison Officer, helping to
coordinate the learning activities for GAC personnel in
Oman.
Ramachandran’s
educational achievements include a Bachelor of Arts (BA)
from the University of Calicut, with majors in History
and Economics, and hold a diploma in librarianship
course from the same institution. He is currently
planning to undertake a diploma in Journalism.
Ramachandran looks forward to the opportunity of joining
the high profile team involved with GAC Corporate
Academy.
Other activities:
Ramachandran enjoys spending his free time writing
articles and is a regular contributor to magazines and
newspapers published in Muscat. Reading, travelling and
listening to music are other keen interests.
Ramachandran
has won first prize in versification at university
level.
