I think
your cover story in the latest issue (TSI January 27, 2008) and the
editorial that appeared in the issue before that were linked.
The stories
of those girls were painful reading and touching.
The recent
increase in rape, molestation etc. is a reflection to how the
society respects our women.
We have
seen shocking reports of a father raping his minor daughter, a
sister being harassed by her brother – all this continues to happen
in our country.
I think the
understanding and respect for each other in our society is lost.
The growth
of a country is considered by measuring the living conditions of its
people, their social responsibility and understanding and beyond
that, the support they enjoy from a democratically elected
government, for whom safeguarding human beings should be the top
priority.
